A little about our Lodge- 8273
In 1967 a number of Round Tablers met and decided to form a lodge of Freemasons who were connected to Round Table. They met at the home of W.Bro Noel Boardman who had been the Master of St Matthews Lodge (hence the W.Bro before his name), and after long discussion it was decided that a Lodge be formed to meet five times a year. They took a few months to get the lodge consecrated with The United Grand Lodge of England in the province of Staffordshire and they met at the Lodge rooms in Russell Street, Wednesbury.
All the founding members and joining members were Round Tablers , but in 1978 candidates with no connection with that association were admitted. Our silver Jubilee was in 1994. Today we have twenty three masons and we are very willing to welcome new members to our Lodge after the normal enquires. We have a number of social events which include our partners,a Burns Night, St Georges night, a Christmas Dinner with carols and we have a golf day and other visits. If you believe that Freemasonry is for you and would like to know more with a view to joining Round Table Lodge, we should like to hear from you. Please click on the CONTACT US page and send details of your background and interest in Freemasonry together with your address and telephone number. It is probable that a member will call on you by appointment and discuss the issues you need to know to help you make a sound decision. You will subsequently be asked to talk to a small group, 3 or 4, of the members of a Lodge. This is an informal and friendly discussion, probably at Wednesbury, quite simply for you to ask any questions about Freemasonry and for them to find out a little about you. So, if you have a developing interest in one of the oldest fraternal and charitable organisations in this Country, you must believe in a Supreme Being (although which God you worship is not an issue, and Lodge meetings are not religious ceremonies; neither is the discussion of religion allowed in Masonry)and you are a 'free man' and at least 21 years of age, get in touch. It may prove to be one of the most rewarding contacts you have ever made. |
